Department of State - IMPORTANT NOTICE CONCERNING NON-MEXICAN
(Third Country National)
APPLICANTS:
The US Consulate General in Ciudad Juarez ACCEPTS the following types of NIV applications from Third Country National (TCN) applicants:
- Applicants seeking to renew their C1/D, D, F, H, I, J, L, M, O, P and R visas, if the
initial visa was issued in the applicant's home country or at one of the U.S. Consulates along the Mexican or Canadian borders.
- Applicants seeking a visa after a change-of-status, such as F1 to H1B, or F1 to J,
provided the applicant has the original change-of-status notice (I-797) from DHS.
- Applicants who were issued an annotated B visa in their country
of residence that indicates they were entered the US with the intent to change visa status, typically prospective students.
- The Consulate will not accept any other applicant who entered the U.S.
on B or C status and then adjusted status within the U.S. to any other visa classification .
Please be aware that some nationalities require a visa to enter Mexico. Please contact directly to the Mexican Consulate.
